From the guesthouse, you will be able to walk to many of the main sights in the city:
- In the Gran Vía, the main artery in Madrid, you will find many different leisure activities: shops, theatres, cinemas, restaurants and bars. You won’t have time to get bored!
- Puerta del Sol and the Km 0 are a must-see in the city. From this central and lively square you will be able to access Plaza Mayor, situated just a few metres from the centre of the city. Enjoy its beautiful façade and the most significant of its 9 entrances: Arco de Cuchilleros.
- The famous Prado Museum is home to the most important works of the history of art on show in its permanent and temporary exhibitions. Very close by, in what it has become known as the Walk of Art (Paseo del Arte) you will find other two very important art galleries: Museo Reina Sofía and Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza.
- The Retiro Park is perfect for a relaxing walk in any season. Renting a boat and row around its central lake is a very interesting experience, as it is visiting its Crystal Palace. You can access it on foot from Plaza de Cibeles walking up Puerta de Alcalá, a very typical Madrid sight.
- You also have to visit Plaza de Oriente, where you will see the magnificent Royal Palace. You can also visit its interior and see the impressive Throne Room. The Sabatini Gardens are very special and a walk around them is a very nice experience. Just by them you will find the Almudena Cathedral, with its New Gothic style and its impressive dome.
